Medical Assistant

About the role

Temp-to-hire opportunity for local or non‑local clinicians willing to relocate permanently if successful. Start date: ASAP. Contract length: 13 weeks. Shift: 5×8‑hour days, 08:30‑17:00, Monday‑Friday. Some travel to satellite clinics (Edmonds, Ballard, Redmond, Bellevue) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative tasks such as medication refills, chart preparation, and in‑basket help.
• Conduct chart preparation, telephone triage, and completion of authorization forms.
• Travel to satellite clinics as needed (Seattle primary site with regular trips to Edmonds, Ballard, Redmond, Bellevue).
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, with floating arranged in advance (no same‑day floating).

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of experience working as a Medical Assistant; cardiology experience preferred but primary‑care MA experience will be considered.
• Current BLS certification.
• Reliable personal transportation (public transportation not acceptable).
• At least a GED or equivalent.
• MA‑C certification preferred; MA‑R will be considered if necessary.
• Willing to work locally (within 50‑mile radius) or relocate permanently.

Qualifications

• MA‑C credential (preferred) or MA‑R (acceptable).
• BLS certified.
• Minimum 6 months MA experience.
• Ability to travel to satellite clinics and provide reliable transportation.

Skills

• Chart preparation and medical record management.
• Telephone triage and patient communication.
• Authorization form completion.
• Administrative support (refills, in‑basket handling).
• Flexibility to float between clinics with advance notice.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.

Schedule

• Monday‑Friday, 08:30‑17:00 (5×8‑hour shifts).
• No weekend work required.
• No on‑call responsibilities.
• Block scheduling not accommodated.
• Guaranteed hours: facility may call off traveler up to one shift per pay period (every two weeks).
