Medical Assistant

Job Duties

• Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.
• Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
• Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about treatment and medication instructions.
• Reviews, completes and submits refill requests.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
• Administer Mental Health Status
• Administer Mental Health Questionnaire
• Promptly capture accurate and detailed documentation of the patient's encounter. Input gathered data into the electronic health record following the instructions of the healthcare provider.
• Afford assistance in navigating the electronic health record.

Education

High School Diploma and/or Medical Assistant Training Certificate desired.
