About the role
Aid providers with efficient patient flow while maintaining high standards of care, perform various patient care tasks, and assist with administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Measure and record vital signs, collect specimens, administer injections, and perform fingersticks for diabetic patients.
- Download glucometer data and assist with thyroid biopsies.
- Return patient calls promptly, documenting and updating information in the patient chart.
- Scan and attach documents as required in a timely manner.
- Collect, report, and document data including chief complaints, vital signs, height, weight, medications, oximetry levels, and patient comfort.
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, assist providers, set up exam or procedure rooms, clean and sterilize instruments.
- Perform limited diagnostic testing such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and laboratory testing.
- Administer medications as directed by the physician.
- Perform clerical duties including physician scheduling, answering and directing calls, maintaining medical records, filing patient charts, composing and typing correspondence.
- Manage materials by stocking exam and procedure rooms, identifying and reporting malfunctioning equipment, and managing inventory of medical and office supplies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Prior medical assistant experience.
- Required certification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR.
Qualifications
Education: HS Diploma/GED preferred.
Experience: Prior medical assistant experience.
Certification/Licensure: American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR.
