About the role
Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a growing and dynamic team!
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and documenting chief complaints
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, treatments, and patient care coordination
- Perform front and back office duties, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing patient records
- Administer injections, medications, and perform basic laboratory procedures as directed by providers
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure patient confidentiality
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, wellness programs, and follow-up care instructions
- Prepare and sanitize exam rooms, medical equipment, and supplies according to infection control standards
- Monitor inventory and order medical and office supplies as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service and the ability to create a welcoming environment for all patients
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software
- Previous experience in a medical setting, preferably in cardiology or with older adults, is highly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
Pay
$24/hour (fixed rate)
Schedule
- Full-time & Part-time positions available
- Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm
- Saturday (half-day), 9:00am to 1:00pm
