Medical Assistant
About the role
Join a collaborative fertility clinic team where patient care, compassion, and attention to detail matter. Our Houston, TX location is seeking a Medical Assistant who enjoys hands-on patient interaction and wants to grow in women’s health and reproductive medicine. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their healthcare career who is looking to build clinical experience in a supportive and highly specialized environment.
Responsibilities
- Aid physicians with clinical procedures
- Follow proper protocols for all procedures
- Practice phlebotomy
- Accurately document ultrasound measurements, provider comments, and use appropriate stim templates while chaperoning ultrasounds
- Clean exam rooms and equipment per protocol
- Set up and stock examination and procedure rooms
- Maintain clinical supplies inventory
- Collect and process specimens for in-house and outside laboratories
- Manage Lanfax for outside labs, reports, and results
- Enter results and email to provider team for review
- Provide patients with information regarding upcoming procedures and reassurance/comfort before, during, and after procedures
Requirements
- 6+ months experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice
- Prior experience in women’s healthcare – preferred
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings
Qualifications
- Completion of Certified Medical Assistant Program – preferred
- Studies level: Certification, Studies area: Nursing/healthcare assistant
- Phlebotomy Program – preferred
- Studies level: Certification, Studies area: Phlebotomy program
Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel
- EMR experience – preferred
