Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Takes vitals and reviews patient history
• Prepares and cleans room for patient
• Gets patient prepared for the physician encounter
• Performs office-based testing and treatments under supervision
• Collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other clinical personnel
• Coordinates patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling
• Schedules patients for clinic, hospital, and other medical treatments and tests
• Resolves patient concerns promptly

Requirements

• At least 1 - 3 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft (Word and Excel)
• EMR (Athena) experience a plus

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited school, or passage of the Medical Assistant examination
