Job Summary
The Medical Assistants under the supervision of the acting physician support the delivery of patient care at Insight Institute of Neuroscience & Neurosurgery. They perform vital signs, assist with interviews and care processes, treatments, and patient transport. They also handle administrative tasks like answering phones, obtaining insurance authorizations, and entering information into the EMR.

Duties
- Screens patients while performing and recording vital signs
- Maintains medical records and patient confidentiality
- Disinfects and cleans room after each patient
- Explains treatment to patients as needed
- Changes sutures and dressings as needed
- Aids physician during exams
- Answers phone calls in a friendly manner and acts as operator for the Hospital
- Greets and interacts with patients in a friendly and polite manner
- Performs other administrative duties such as registering patients and scheduling appointments
- Maintains ability to multitask and move between responsibilities in a fluid manner
- Adheres to Jcaho hospital standards and PolicyStat policies
- Maintains supplies and inventory as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degrees strongly preferred in the areas related to Healthcare and Biology
- Previous healthcare experience preferred
- Must be able to achieve CPR certification within 30 days of employment
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to show superior patient care
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and drive
- Able to work compassionately with patients and coworkers to exhibit patient care second to none
- Exudes respect and flexibility to impact the workplace in a positive manner
- Able to work effectively with others; works well within a team environment
- Excellent skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care, in order to meet documentation standards
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement
- Previous experience and familiarity with EMRs is preferred
- Aware of standards and performs in accordance with them
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
