Medical Assistant
About the role
InnovaCare Texas Management Services Company, LLC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our growing network of clinics. This position plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive patient care and administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during patient visits
- Collect patient history and vital signs
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment
- Take patient histories and perform basic diagnostic tests
- Manage patient records and maintain confidentiality
- Handle insurance claims and billing processes
- Communicate with patients regarding appointments and test results
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited institution
- Licensed to work in the state of Texas
- One year of experience in a healthcare setting with direct patient contact
- Strong venipuncture skills and data entry abilities
- Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills
- Basic computer skills including proficiency in electronic health record systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/sit for extended periods
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic math skills
Preferred Skills
- Certified in AED and CPR
- At least 5 years of experience as a certified medical assistant
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
