About the role

InnovaCare Texas Management Services Company, LLC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our growing network of clinics. This position plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive patient care and administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during patient visits
  • Collect patient history and vital signs
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed
  • Prepare examination rooms and equipment
  • Take patient histories and perform basic diagnostic tests
  • Manage patient records and maintain confidentiality
  • Handle insurance claims and billing processes
  • Communicate with patients regarding appointments and test results
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited institution
  • Licensed to work in the state of Texas
  • One year of experience in a healthcare setting with direct patient contact
  • Strong venipuncture skills and data entry abilities
  • Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills including proficiency in electronic health record systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/sit for extended periods
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic math skills

Preferred Skills

  • Certified in AED and CPR
  • At least 5 years of experience as a certified medical assistant
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Required immunizations and vaccinations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/sit for extended periods
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate equipment and machinery
  • Ability to properly drive and operate a company vehicle
  • Occasionally exposed to communicable diseases or bodily fluids
  • Ability to discriminate shades of color when reading a dipstick
