Responsibilities
- Travel between assigned locations to escort patients to exam rooms on a timely basis.
- Triage patients for radiologic studies, cast removals, and other examinations.
- Absorb and assist physicians during patient examinations.
- Evaluate and provide wound care as necessary.
- Prepare and instruct patients on medication usage.
- Process prescriptions and coordinate referrals for ongoing services.
- Act as a liaison between patients and external providers, resolving issues and providing updates.
- Assist in scheduling appointments for new and established patients.
- Prepare clinical charts and ensure all necessary data is secured before patient appointments.
- Notify management when clinic supplies are low and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (CMA) preferred.
- Certifications/Licensure: CMA (AAMA), RMA, CCMA, NCMA preferred.
- Maintain CPR certification.
- Experience in an orthopedic healthcare setting preferred.
- Good working knowledge of practice management and EHR software, Google products, Microsoft Office, and Windows-based computer applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working professionally with physicians, patients, and staff.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
