Medical Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our multi-specialty practice, helping patients return to active lives through compassionate, evidence-based spine care, including non-surgical treatment options and advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones in a polite and professional manner, introducing yourself, explaining scheduling/referral processes, and addressing patient questions or concerns
• Work closely with physicians on their schedules and efficiently manage tasks to meet deadlines
• Obtain and record patient vitals in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Schedule appointments and verify insurance benefits, eligibility, and authorizations
• Employ critical thinking, problem-solving, and decisive judgment in a demanding, multi-priority environment
• Maintain basic computer proficiency, including word processing and typing; experience with Outlook and EMR (Intergy) preferred
• Demonstrate a professional demeanor and positive attitude to represent our facility in the community
• Perform other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years of medical assisting experience
• Strong administrative skills and computer literacy
• Ability to learn and work within an electronic medical record system
• Knowledge of insurance eligibility and authorizations
• Friendly disposition with a willingness to assist others and work both independently and as part of a team
• Extensive knowledge of HIPAA preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
