About the role

The Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) is a mission-driven non-profit organization with over 700 staff members dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare to residents in the Merrimack Valley. GLFHC is nationally recognized for its family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics services and sponsors the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing patients and recording medical histories
• Confirming patient visit purposes and assisting clinicians with care
• Taking vital signs (blood pressure, weight, temperature)
• Reporting pertinent information to medical records
• Performing EKGs, ear irrigations, throat cultures, urinalyses, flu tests, glucose tests, and INR tests
• Ensuring test results are available in medical records
• Determining and setting up exam room equipment needs
• Aiding clinicians with treatments and dressings
• If certified, translating for providers as needed

Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
• Fluent in both spoken and written English
• Certified in CPR
• Graduate of a medical assistant program
