Responsibilities
- Room office visit patients: greet, take vitals, enter history in the EMR, and update medication lists
- Keep exam rooms clean and stocked with medical supplies
- Assist providers with rectal exams and hemorrhoid banding procedures
- Manage patient flow and update medical charts with accurate, timely documentation
- Handle phone triage under provider direction
- Administer treatments and procedures in accordance with physician’s orders
- Provide patient education and personal care to address physiological and psychological needs
- Process prescription refills following clinic protocol under provider direction
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with clinic employees, managers, and providers
- Perform cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care
- Follow safety procedures in compliance with OSHA and state health department guidelines
- Complete other administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant (AAMA certification preferred)
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Bilingual (Spanish/Russian) preferred
