Responsibilities

• Room office visit patients: greet, take vitals, enter history in the EMR, and update medication lists
• Keep exam rooms clean and stocked with medical supplies
• Assist providers with rectal exams and hemorrhoid banding procedures
• Manage patient flow and update medical charts with accurate, timely documentation
• Handle phone triage under provider direction
• Administer treatments and procedures in accordance with physician’s orders
• Provide patient education and personal care to address physiological and psychological needs
• Process prescription refills following clinic protocol under provider direction
• Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with clinic employees, managers, and providers
• Perform cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care
• Follow safety procedures in compliance with OSHA and state health department guidelines
• Complete other administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant (AAMA certification preferred)
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Bilingual (Spanish/Russian) preferred
