Responsibilities
- Rooming patients and documenting all vital information
- Scribing information for the dermatologist
- Providing post-op wound care to patients
- Drawing blood and suturing removal
- Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Aiding the dermatologist with procedures such as surgical photography, biopsies, excisions, electrodessication and curettage, I&D, Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, phototherapy, injections, Koh preps, trichograms, Tzank preps, dermabrasion, patch testing, blue light
Qualifications
- Minimum post-high school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-certified Medical Assistants must complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration)
- 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity (preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech (plus)
- Keeps current on all state certifications, licenses, and/or registrations to continue employment
- Willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
- Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
- Organizational and communication skills
- Effective teamwork and multi-tasking abilities
