Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documenting all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post-op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suturing removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments
• Aiding the dermatologist with procedures such as surgical photography, biopsies, excisions, electrodessication and curettage, I&D, Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, phototherapy, injections, Koh preps, trichograms, Tzank preps, dermabrasion, patch testing, blue light

Qualifications

• Minimum post-high school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-certified Medical Assistants must complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration)
• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity (preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech (plus)
• Current on all state certifications, licenses, and/or registrations to continue employment
• Willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Organizational and communication skills
• Effective teamwork and multi-tasking abilities
