Medical Assistant

Position Summary

We are hiring a Medical Assistant to assist our providers with exams, procedures and other processes to meet the specific needs of our patients, including but not limited to:

• Triage patients, measure vitals, and record information on patients’ charts
• Perform blood draws, venipuncture, specimen collection, and complete lab work
• Administer medications and immunizations under provider direction
• Set up procedures as instructed by provider
• Prepare treatment rooms for examinations and bring patients from the waiting room to exam rooms

Requirements

• Graduation from a Medical Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or other relevant program, OR an active Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant designation
• OR 6 months of experience in a relevant environment
• Preferred prior recent experience in a healthcare setting, such as an emergency department, urgent care, or other ambulatory clinic

Qualifications

• Graduate of one of the following programs is required:
• Medical Assistant
• Passing of CCMA examination
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA state license required with phlebotomy certificate)
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-A)
• Paramedic
• Graduate of another relevant program with CMO approval
• Possesses active Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) designation

Skills

• BLS through American Heart Association is required; American Safety Health Institute, or National Safety Council are preferred
