Medical Assistant

About the role

Emergency One is seeking Full-Time Medical Assistants with no prior experience. Training will be provided to those interested in a healthcare career and eager to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Inputs data into EMR including patient's chief complaint, symptoms, length of symptoms, injury details, medications, PFSH, medical history, ROS, allergies, etc.
• Obtains and records vital signs upon patient admission according to their condition.
• Communicates pertinent observations to the medical provider promptly.
• Aids in performing skills as prepared, assists with specimen handling and labeling, and maintains accurate EMR documentation.
• Checks patient rooms for supplies and gathers necessary data for physical exams.
• Ensures compliance with blood borne pathogen protocols and follows universal precautions.
• Accurately performs point of care tests such as strep, mono, U/A, HCG, flu, Covid, and prepares specimens for laboratory.
• Transmits and receives necessary information between various healthcare associations (lab, radiology, hospital).
• Performs phlebotomy to collect blood samples for laboratory analysis.

Requirements

No prior medical assistant experience is required. Some healthcare experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

A High School Diploma is the minimum educational requirement.

Skills

Knowledge of blood borne pathogens, adherence to universal precaution protocol, and proficiency in point of care testing are essential.

Pay

$18-$20 per hour.

Schedule

Full-time, 12-hour shifts and 8-hour shifts available, including weekends.
