Essential Functions

  • Aid in delivering direct patient care as directed.
  • Support the clinic team to meet performance expectations for KPIs including market capture goals, patient throughput, procedure ratios, and quality audits.
  • Accurately document patient records and charges as needed.
  • Assist physicians during patient treatments and monitor patients during visits.
  • Ensure correct patient identification for procedures and confirm patient identification using two identifiers.
  • Show knowledge of the clinic and follow the appropriate chain of command.
  • Maintain compliance with clinic policies and paperwork.
  • Schedule and accurately manage all clinical and procedure appointments.
  • Transmit information between physician offices and third-party billing services.
  • Answer phones promptly, direct calls, and relay messages.
  • Create new patient packets.
  • Prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adjust work as needed.
  • Enter data into iStats and hospital databases as required.
  • Perform various clerical duties such as copying, filing, typing, and others as requested.
  • Communicate with patients and colleagues as a customer.

Experience and Requirements

  • Licensed as a Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA).
  • Hold a BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a Medical Assistant Certificate or Associate Degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in physician offices and billing is beneficial.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Good communication and organizational abilities.
  • Able to respond quickly to emergencies.
  • Able to read and understand instructions in English.

Physical Demands

  • Requires a full range of body motion including walking, lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, sitting, and standing.
  • Standing for 6-8 hours per day is common.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and lift above the shoulders is necessary.
  • Excellent vision and hearing are required.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Good eye-hand coordination and fine finger dexterity are important.
