About the role
Provides outpatient care for patients and assists physicians in various clinical areas.
Responsibilities
- Front and back office procedures
- Auxiliary work including medical examinations, charting, and assisting with minor surgeries and diagnostic procedures
- Stocks examination rooms and triage area with medical supplies
- Maintains clean and well-equipped examination rooms; cleans and sterilizes instruments
- Trains and orientates new medical assistants
- Checks EMR tasks daily
- Updates patient prenatal lab forms for follow-up patients
- Takes vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, and blood pressure
- May draw blood and give injections under supervision
- Chaperones when appropriate
- Updates patient charts with all pertinent documentation for return and postpartum patients
Requirements
- Certification must be uploaded to profile for consideration
- Working knowledge of computers
- Customer service-oriented individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and comprehend all information required for this position
- Women’s health experience preferred
- Experience in a fast-paced ambulatory setting preferred
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program (or equivalent military training) and certification (CMA or RMA) is required

- Must be able to pass a background check
