About the role
Cummins Behavioral Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to serve families at our outpatient clinic in Avon, Indiana.
Responsibilities
- Aid nursing and psychiatric staff in providing medical and psychiatric services to patients
- Coordinate medical and psychiatric treatment with other health care providers outside of the organization
- Coordinate medical and psychiatric services with other mental health professionals both within and outside the organization
- Provide direct contact, either face-to-face or by phone, and indirect contact via a variety of electronic means or correspondence
- Schedule patient appointments
- Help patients complete insurance forms
- Collect insurance copays
- Travel to assigned clinic locations and other designated sites as required to support patient care and organizational operations
Requirements
- Medical assistant certification from a postsecondary medical assisting program
- Certified in phlebotomy
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in healthcare setting preferred
