About the role

The Medical Assistant is the first point of contact for patient care. They perform both administrative tasks and direct patient care, collaborating with physicians and advanced practice providers. They administer medications and vaccines, perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and document information into the electronic medical records system.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced administrative, operational, and customer support responsibilities requiring independent initiative and judgment.
  • Discuss symptoms and obtain vital signs.
  • Administer medications and vaccines.
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens.
  • Conduct diagnostic screening tests.
  • Sterilize and clean equipment.
  • Maintain examination rooms.
  • Document information into the electronic medical records system.
  • Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Deliver direct patient care dependent on active certification.

Requirements

  • Use skills to make an impact.
  • Have Certified or Registered Phlebotomy experience.
  • Have Medication/Vaccine Administration experience.
  • Have 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Be CPR certified.

Qualifications

  • Preferred 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in PCO center.
  • Preferred Value-Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICP coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
  • PREFERRED: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of administrative processes and organizational knowledge.
  • Contributes to process improvement, delivers in-depth training, and provides advanced guidance/mentoring to other Medical Assistants.

Pay Range

$44,900 - $60,200 per year.
