About the role
Become a part of our caring community. The Medical Assistant 2 is the first point of contact for patient care, responsible for administrative duties in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments, performs computations, and typically works on semi-routine assignments. This role is patient‑facing and part of Humana’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program; selected candidates will be required to undergo TB screening. Location: CenterWell Port Arthur, 8555 Memorial Blvd., Suite 100, Port Arthur, TX 77640. Responsibilities
- First point of contact for patient care.
- Perform administrative duties alongside patient care.
- Carry out varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments.
- Perform computations.
- Work on semi‑routine assignments.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an MA school/training program or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of relevant experience with provider approval.
- Current/Active CPR certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be willing to undergo TB screening (role is part of TB screening program).
Qualifications
- Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (Arizona, Indiana, and South Carolina candidates must hold certification or registration).
