Job Overview

Join out team as a Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant functions as a pivotal member of the patient care team performing medical assisting duties. Under general supervision the Medical Assistant (MA) assists provider with patient care and all back-office duties. Ensures smooth work and patient flow within the clinic.

About the Role

The Medical Assistant supports physicians in delivering comprehensive patient care by anticipating needs and ensuring smooth workflow during examinations and treatments. Manages patient records, appointments, and insurance details meticulously to ensure accurate and efficient clinic operations. Upholds high standards of cleanliness and organization in exam rooms and supply areas, adhering to infection control protocols for patient safety. Demonstrates strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality, while remaining prepared to respond effectively to emergencies as they arise. Performs a wide range of clinical tasks including obtaining vital signs, assisting with minor surgeries, and conducting laboratory procedures in accordance with established protocols and best practices. Actively engages in patient education initiatives, providing clear instructions on home care strategies and proper use of assistive devices to promote optimal recovery and wellness. Remains flexible and responsive to evolving clinic needs, readily taking on additional responsibilities as delegated by supervisors to support the team and enhance patient care delivery.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required. Completion of a medical assistant diploma or certification from an accredited vocational institution, or completion of a medical assisting course at a community college is preferred. Documentation of completion of an externship in a medical office is also desirable.
  • Experience: One year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in tasks such as taking vital signs, venipuncture, and injections is required.

Pay

$19 - $26/hour, commensurate with experience
