Medical Assistant

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 1-3 years experience
• Medical Technician Registration or MA Certification
• BCLS within 30 days of hire

Major Responsibilities

• Assists in conducting clinical care activities under the direction of a provider
• Performs clinical duties such as setting up for and assisting the provider during examination and procedures
• Affixes dressing changes and facilitates patient flow
• Obtains clinical data such as vital signs; height and weight; records accurately
• Cleans instruments or other patient treatment areas as needed
• Stocks rooms with appropriate medical supplies
• Conducts phlebotomy as assigned; collects and prepares lab specimens
• Performs administrative duties to include answering telephone inquiries; organizing patient charts; assisting in the preparation and maintenance of patient medical records
• Transports patients to other hospital departments as necessary
• Calls in prescriptions as directed by the provider
• Schedules pre-admission and diagnostic testing
• Performs other duties as assigned
