Responsibilities
- Work closely with clinical providers and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Aid in patient education on treatment, medication, and continuity of care.
- Update and maintain accurate patient charts, including medical history, test results, and allergies.
- Ensure the confidentiality of patient records and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate with patients regarding follow-up appointments, test results, and general inquiries.
- Provide patients with instructions for medications.
- Answer phone lines for incoming patient communications.
- Rely important messages between clinical providers, staff, and patients when necessary.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments for consultations, orders, or follow-ups.
- Cookordinate the scheduling of tests, treatments, prior authorization, or specialist referrals as needed.
- Perform additional tasks, duties, and assignments as specified by your supervisor.
Requirements
- An individual must be able to perform the essential functions satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to learn, execute tasks, and train others on EMR functions and workflows.
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant Program is preferred. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a healthcare-related field as Medical Assistant or similar role. Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record-keeping system.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong organizational and project management skills.

$18 - $20.00 per hour
