Job Summary

Medical Assistant at 200 N Virginia st, Terrell 75160. Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8a-5p schedule.

About the role

Supports doctors by providing patient care and performing delegated medical tasks. Maintains records and administers medication and injections, records vital signs, helps with examinations, prepares exam rooms, cleans before and after procedures, disinfects equipment, restocks supplies, talks to patients, helps patients to the exam room, collects data, monitors vital signs, assists with medical procedures, tests, and x-rays, conducts patient assessments, processes electrocardiograms, collects blood and urine samples during testing.

Essential Functions

• Help with examining and treating patients under a physician's guidance.
• Prepare exam rooms, clean before and after procedures, disinfect equipment, restock supplies.
• Talking to patients is important. Help patients to the exam room and get them ready.
• Collecting data is essential. Patients provide medical history. Information goes in their file. Data used to assist physicians.
• Monitor vital signs like pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Help patients prepare for medical procedures, tests, and x-rays.
• Your duties involve conducting patient assessments, processing electrocardiograms, and collecting blood and urine samples during testing.

• Accurately document patient details in line with organizational guidelines.
• Understand the rules related to patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA regulations).
• Identify and report any signs of physical distress in patients to the healthcare staff.
• Have a good grasp of medical terminology.
• Enhance patient comfort and ease through approachable and friendly interactions.
• Follow instructions from medical professionals.
• Know about medical records and how to handle them.
• Have a keen eye for detail.
