Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient flow to and from exam rooms.
• Greets and escorts patients and families to the exam room.
• Obtains purpose of visit, vital signs, and documents appropriately.
• Prepares patients for physical exams.
• Aids physicians and/or providers with office procedures involving direct patient care.
• Performs diagnostic tests such as EKGs and spirometry.
• Obtains specimens and performs screenings.
• Administers immunizations and injections under the direct supervision of the physician.
• Cleans exam rooms after each patient visit.
• Inventories and stocks supplies and equipment for exam rooms.
• Performs all duties in compliance with all federal and state regulations.
• Listens courteously and responds to patient questions, concerns, and/or refers to the appropriate individual.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent.
• Graduate of accredited medical assistant program REQUIRED.
• (Certification is not required).
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and employees.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities.
• Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records is Required.
• Licensure or Certification: Current CPR/BLS certification.
