Responsibilities
- Maintains patient flow to and from exam rooms.
- Greets and escorts patients and families to the exam room.
- Obtains purpose of visit, vital signs, and documents appropriately.
- Prepares patients for physical exams.
- Aids physicians and/or providers with office procedures involving direct patient care.
- Performs diagnostic tests such as EKGs and spirometry.
- Obtains specimens and performs screenings.
- Administers immunizations and injections under the direct supervision of the physician.
- Cleans exam rooms after each patient visit.
- Inventories and stocks supplies and equipment for exam rooms.
- Performs all duties in compliance with all federal and state regulations.
- Listens courteously and responds to patient questions, concerns, and/or refers to the appropriate individual.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or its equivalent.
- Graduate of accredited medical assistant program REQUIRED.
- (Certification is not required).
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and employees.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities.
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records is Required.
- Licensure or Certification: Current CPR/BLS certification.
