Medical Assistant
About the Role
As a DME (Durable Medical Equipment) Medical Assistant, you will perform necessary fittings for custom knee braces and educate patients to ensure each DME product achieves its prescribed clinical outcome. The goal is to provide patients with a comfortable and safe experience.
Responsibilities
- Review patient charts to prepare for delivery of braces and set daily goals.
- Ensure inventory is accurately counted and recorded daily.
- Participate in routing patients through the practice.
- Measure and fit prescribed braces.
- Perform adjustments/re-fittings as necessary.
- Ensure patient bracing data is accurately recorded.
Requirements
- Medical assistant certification
Skills
- Medical assistant experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
