Description
- Prepares patients for examination by taking vitals; recording medical history into Epic
- Escorting patients to and from exam rooms
- Complying with OSHA and HIPPA regulations
- Schedules surgeries by making arrangements with the surgical centers; verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admission and consent forms
- Helps the physician with procedures
- Gives patients injections as directed by the physician
- Casts for orthotics
- Applies below knee cast
- Applies low dying strapping to feet
- Applies Unna Boots
- Performs nail debridement
- Performs callus/corn debridement
- Performs dressing changes
- Performs X-Rays
- Documents phone calls
- Updates logs
Administrative
- Orders, sorts, stores supplies and restocks exam rooms
- Cleans exam areas, sets up instruments and equipment and cleans the sterilizer
- Greet patients, answers the office phones, performs data entry and schedules appointments
- Assists front office staff if and when needed
- Performs manual insurance verifications
- Performs any other duties determined appropriate by management
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Light travel to other offices may be required for business needs
- At least one (1) year of experience preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification is preferred
- Epic experience is preferred
