Location: 23543 Kingsland Blvd #100, Katy, TX 77494

Schedule

  • Monday: 9 AM–6 PM
  • Tuesday: 8:30 AM–5 PM
  • Wednesday: 8:30 AM–5 PM
  • Thursday: 9:30 AM–6:30 PM
  • Friday: 7:30 AM–3 PM
  • Occasional overtime and/or travel to other clinics may be required

Responsibilities

Front desk reception

  • Answers phones and schedules appointments
  • Greets patients with a smile, assists with completion of registration forms, and provides instructions
  • Processes, codes, and completes insurance claim forms
  • Uses communication skills with appropriate medical terminology

Clinical

  • Measures and records vital signs
  • Interviews patients while recording and updating medical information (history, chief complaint, and medications) into the EHR
  • Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests
  • Provides patient education regarding medications and instructions set forth by the provider to manage their health
  • Prepares and administers medications with physician authorization
  • Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks, and prepares exam room for patients
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments
  • Checks and responds to patient phone calls (communicating with the provider on course of action and relaying to the patient)
  • Reviews and prepares requests and prior authorizations for medications

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable experience
  • One year of medical office experience preferred
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Medical Assistant Certification a plus
  • Must be self-directed and able to work independently
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Professional, calm, and courteous demeanor
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Safety and Confidentiality: Follows OSHA regulations, safety guidelines, and HIPAA policies; respects and maintains patient confidentiality; uses CPR skills when necessary
  • Organization: Uses time efficiently by prioritizing and planning work activities; methodical and efficient in structuring tasks
  • Professional Maturity: Ability to separate emotional feelings from real issues; objectively challenges beliefs and biases
  • Time Management: Manages own time and others’ time; shifts between multiple activities or sources of information
  • Active Listening: Gives full attention to others, understands points being made, asks questions appropriately, and avoids interrupting
  • Interpersonal Communication: Writes and speaks effectively based on situational dynamics; actively listens, verifies understanding, and uses tact when delivering feedback

Physical Demands

  • Anticipate lifting 20-25 pounds daily; occasional lifting of 40-50 pounds may be required
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to safely perform various skills and techniques
  • Substantial repetitive movements of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers
  • May be exposed to acutely ill patients, communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and airborne allergens used during skin testing and immunotherapy

Work Environment

  • Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation
  • Moderate noise (e.g., business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
