Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by recording vital signs, medical histories, and relevant symptoms related to otolaryngology and allergy/immunology.
- Affix assist healthcare providers during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including allergy testing and immunotherapy administration.
- Collect, label, and process specimens accurately while following established sterilization and infection control protocols.
- Operate and maintain medical instruments specific to otolaryngology and allergy/immunology diagnostics.
- Manage patient scheduling, documentation, and communication to ensure seamless clinical operations and patient follow-up.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification recognized in the United States. Demonstrated knowledge of otolaryngology and allergy/immunology diagnostic procedures. Experience with specimen collection, processing, and sterilization techniques. Proficiency in using medical instruments relevant to the specialty. Strong understanding of clinical workflows and patient care protocols.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working alongside nurse practitioners in a clinical setting. Additional certification or training in allergy and immunology diagnostics. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in specialty practices. Advanced communication skills for patient education and support. Experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare team environment.
