Schedule
- Monday: 9 AM–6 PM
- Tuesday: 8:30 AM–5 PM
- Wednesday: 8:30 AM–5 PM
- Thursday: 9:30 AM–6:30 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM–3 PM
Occasional overtime and/or travel to other clinics may be required.
Responsibilities
Front Desk Reception
- Answers phones and schedules appointments
- Greets patients with a smile, assists with completion of registration forms, and provides instructions
- Processes, codes, and completes insurance claim forms
- Uses communication skills with appropriate medical terminology
Clinical Duties
- Measures and records vital signs
- Interviews patients while recording and updating medical information (history, chief complaint, medications, etc.) into the EHR
- Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests
- Provides patient education regarding medications and instructions set forth by the provider
- Prepares and administers medications with physician authorization
- Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks, and prepares exam rooms
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments
- Checks and responds to patient phone calls, communicating with the provider on course of action and relaying information to the patient
- Reviews and prepares requests and prior authorizations for medications
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable experience
- One year of medical office experience preferred
- Current CPR certification required
- Medical Assistant Certification a plus
- Self-directed and able to work independently
- Attention to detail

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Physical Demands
- Anticipate lifting 20-25 pounds daily; occasional lifting of 40-50 pounds may be required
- Sufficient manual dexterity to safely perform various skills and techniques
- Substantial repetitive movements of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers
- May be exposed to acutely ill patients, communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and airborne allergens used during skin testing and immunotherapy
Work Environment
- Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation
- Moderate noise (e.g., business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
