Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, and other relevant patient information.
  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient care.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and in-office procedures.
  • Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Assist with medication reconciliation and prescription-related workflows as directed by the provider.
  • Perform basic clinical duties and testing within the Medical Assistant's scope and training.
  • Provide patients with instructions and education as directed by the provider.
  • Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, medical records, and other clinical follow-up as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate infection-control and safety standards.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and clinical equipment according to established procedures.
  • Help maintain patient flow and communicate delays or concerns to the appropriate team members.
  • Work collaboratively with providers, front-office staff, and other members of the clinical team.
  • Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous Medical Assistant or clinical support experience preferred.
  • Experience in ENT, allergy, primary care, or another outpatient specialty is a plus.
  • Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and patient-service skills.
  • Comfortable working with electronic medical records and basic computer systems.
  • Able to multitask and remain organized in a busy clinical environment.
  • Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
