About the Role

As a key member of the care team, the Medical Assistant supports clinical operations by coordinating patient flow, preparing patients for exams, administering medications and vaccines, and ensuring a smooth, compassionate experience for families. This role is integral in supporting the clinic team to provide a compassionate, seamless care experience for our patients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient rooming and flow in a fast-paced clinic environment
  • Support providers with procedures and anticipate their clinical needs
  • Perform patient intakes, including vital signs, vision/hearing screenings, and documentation
  • Administer vaccines and single-dose medications
  • Clean and stock exam rooms and maintain clinic cleanliness and safety standards
  • Communicate with patients and families via phone calls and patient portal messages
  • Collaborate with providers, nurses, and support teams to ensure high-quality care
  • Exhibit professionalism and sound judgment within the scope of role
  • Participate in ongoing training, projects, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Perform lab-related tasks
  • Promote atmosphere of patient care and customer service excellence, respecting patient rights, confidentiality, diversity, and developmental needs
  • Other duties assigned by management

Requirements

  • Commitment to a minimum of 1.5 years in this position
  • Prior healthcare or pediatric experience is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to obtain Medical Assistant – Registered (MA-R) credential (sponsored by Allegro Pediatrics)
  • Must adhere to all Allegro Pediatrics employee health screening policies
  • The person in this position must always demonstrate professionalism and integrity
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal/people skills
  • Strong organizational/multi-tasking skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work across multiple clinic locations
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Education

  • High School/GED diploma or higher
  • Ability to obtain a Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) credential through the State of Washington, Sponsored by Allegro Pediatrics

Compensation

  • Medical Assistant-Registered: $24.59
  • Medical Assistant-Certified: $27.20

Schedule

  • Full time: 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts (4/10s), 40 hours/week
  • Day off: to be determined by Allegro's staffing needs
  • Schedules are published 2 months in advance
  • Employees are required to work one weekend day per month in addition to their weekday schedule and one holiday each year
  • Weekends and holiday hours receive additional pay differentials
