Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Allergy Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. This position requires a strong foundation in medical terminology, patient service, and clinical procedures, making it essential for candidates to have experience in a medical setting. Experience in allergy is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer allergy injections as directed by physician and physician assistants.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting patient history.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with medical coding standards (ICD coding).
- Assists with rooming patients.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and coordinating referrals.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of Allergy is desired but not required
- Prior work experience as a Medical Assistant is desirable
- Familiarity with basic life support (BLS) protocols and emergency response procedures
- Excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task and attention to detail required
- Proficiency in EHR systems for effective patient documentation
- Understanding of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments effectively
