Akron-Canton (assist at nearby Eton Chagrin and Strongsville clinics as needed)
Responsibilities
- Greet, room, and take vitals of patients.
- Ensure clinic patient appointments run in a timely manner, communicating with Physicians and APPs for necessary information before they see patients.
- Sanitize exam rooms after each patient.
- Sanitize equipment used in clinics including instruments, scopes, and specialty procedure equipment.
- Record into the patient's EHR encounter as necessary per visit.
- Support clinical procedures as delegated by the supervising physician, including patient preparation, procedure scheduling, assisting during procedures, and reviewing discharge instructions.
- Rotate/stock pharmaceutical closet; dispose of expired medications.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and non-sample pharmaceuticals.
- Order medical supplies and pharmaceuticals as needed, per established protocol.
- Crosstrain in Patient Service Representative duties.
- Identify, propose and implement continual improvements to drive process efficiency, scalability and innovation within the scope of your work that enhances our ability to achieve the ADVENT vision.
- Support the overall success of the organization and perform other related duties as requested by leadership.
- Plan and adapt with business growth and strategy, cross-training where necessary to accommodate different situations and locations.
- Follow all legal and compliance requirements, including HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient privacy.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant experience preferred, such as CMA (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or two years of working experience.
- Procedure assisting experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent time management skills, including ability to work autonomously and with minimal direction.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills, including phone, verbal, written, and active listening, with the ability to build rapport with patients.
- Ability to solve problems with the focus on patient experience to make critical decisions.
- Experience working with performance-based goals or metrics.
- Solid data entry and technology skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, EHR.
- Tech-savvy with experience in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- A problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and strong work ethic.
- Must be willing to assist and train at various clinics within the market as needed.
- Valid driver license.
Schedule
- Full-time 32-40 hr/week flex position - No weekends.
- Primary Schedule:
- Monday & Tuesday: 8am-5:30pm
- Wednesday & Thursday: 8am-4:30pm
- Friday: 8am-2:30pm
Pay
$21.50 - $25.00
