Medical Assistant
Reiter, Hill & Johnson, partnered with Advantia Health, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support practice providers and staff in delivering an exceptional patient experience.
About the role
This position performs both clinical and administrative duties, assisting medical providers with examinations and procedures while ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for patients.
Responsibilities
- Greet, register, and schedule patients.
- Prepare patients for examinations by reviewing medical history, documenting clinical symptoms, and updating medications.
- Record vital signs.
- Assist medical providers with exams and procedures as instructed.
- Administer medications and injections.
- Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens, including pathology, urine, fecal, and blood samples.
- Stock exam rooms with supplies and clean/sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Answer telephones, schedule appointments, take messages, and provide information.
- Triage, review, and route test results.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in healthcare or a related field preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare organization preferred but not required.
