Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant, you'll help ensure a positive patient experience by coordinating care, maintaining accurate patient information, and collaborating with a dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional cardiovascular services.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service and support throughout their healthcare experience.
• Assist with patient intake, registration, and verification of demographic and insurance information.
• Accurately enter and maintain patient information within electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Coordinate patient appointments, follow-up visits, referrals, and testing as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to support efficient patient care and office operations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
• Answer patient questions and provide assistance regarding appointments, forms, and general office procedures.
• Support patient flow and ensure a welcoming, professional, and organized healthcare environment.
• Assist with general administrative and patient care coordination tasks as needed.
• Contribute to a positive team culture focused on delivering outstanding patient care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a healthcare, medical office, or clinical setting preferred.
• Strong patient service skills with a compassionate and professional demeanor.
• Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards preferred.
• Familiarity with cardiology or specialty healthcare practices is a plus.
• Medical Assistant certification is welcomed but not required.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, typically between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30/5:00 p.m.
• No evenings or weekends.

Work Environment

This position is based in a professional cardiology specialty practice in Fairfield, CT. Team members work closely with providers, clinical staff, and patients to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care. The role combines patient interaction, care coordination, documentation, and operational support in a collaborative healthcare setting dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes.

This is a fully onsite, Contract to Hire position.
