Patient Relations
- Greet and attend to patient needs.
- Respond to patient requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Achieve customer/patient satisfaction by providing excellent service.
- Absorb and relay messages to appropriate health care personnel.
- Assist in making patient appointments and gathering necessary information.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information both at work and off-duty.
Clerical
- Maintain patient charts as outlined by each practitioner.
- Order and retrieve patient’s medical records, x-ray films, scans, lab work, etc.
- Make appropriate copies as necessary.
- Fax necessary patient visit documentation to appropriate medical offices.
- Schedule out-of-clinic tests and procedures per doctor’s orders.
- Post patients’ results on charts and forward to appropriate doctors for review.
- Accurately document observations, actions, and patient outcomes in compliance with medical/legal guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program required.
- Registered MA or Nationally certified MA certifications required.
- Two to four years prior medical assistant experience or healthcare experience preferred.
- Phlebotomy skills required.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish) are a plus.
- Computer skills and typing required.
- Previous experience utilizing an electronic medical record experience strongly preferred.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Calm, professional attitude in stressful situations and interactions.
- High level of ethics in maintaining patient confidentiality.
