Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for visits, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable experience
• Record and update vital signs, medical histories, medications, and allergies in the EMR
• Assist physicians with allergy testing (skin prick and intradermal) and immunotherapy injections
• Prepare and administer allergy extracts and maintain accurate documentation
• Support procedures including pulmonary function testing, spirometry, and medication administration
• Maintain exam rooms, inventory, and cleanliness per infection-control standards
• Care for patient flow, scheduling, and follow-up communications
• Handle lab specimens and assist with diagnostic test processing as directed
• Provide education on procedures, treatment plans, and medication instructions
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all clinical safety standards

Qualifications

• Required: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent
• Required: Current BLS/CPR certification
• Preferred: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in an outpatient setting
• Preferred: Experience in allergy, asthma, immunology, or internal medicine
• Preferred: Familiarity with EMR systems (Elation, Athena, or similar)
• Preferred: Spanish or Mandarin bilingual ability
