Medical Assistant Apprentice - Indiana

About the role

We are seeking dedicated individuals passionate about patient care to join our Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program. This 1.5-year, full-time opportunity is designed to equip participants with the skills and experience needed to become certified Medical Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit behavior and communication skills demonstrating the company's commitment to superior customer service, including quality care and concern with internal and external customers
• Use, protect, and disclose patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
• Anticipate the clinician's needs and carry out orders
• Check for patients' arrival status and escort patients from the waiting area to exam rooms. Escort patients to ancillary services as needed
• Obtain, record, and report vital signs and other pertinent patient information to RN, LVN, or clinician
• Perform various medical procedures and medication administration as appropriate for their certification
• Perform phlebotomy, process lab specimens, and maintain lab specimen logs as appropriate
• Assist clinician with procedures as requested
• Maintain and clean exam and treatment areas, specimen processing areas, and medical equipment
• Complete or assist with the completion of appropriate forms, tracking, transport, etc.

Requirements

• Completed High School Diploma or GED, at time of application
• Currently hold Basic Life Support Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Access to reliable transportation and possess a valid driver's license to travel to classroom, skills training, and assigned clinic
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future
• Ability to transport up to 50 pounds
• Ability to handle heavy objects using up to 100 pounds of force
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
• Ability to operate equipment and/or machinery
• Ability to exchange information verbally and/or in writing
• Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future
• Physical & Mental Requirements: Ability to transport up to 50 pounds, ability to handle heavy objects using up to 100 pounds of force, ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, ability to operate equipment and/or machinery, ability to exchange information verbally and/or in writing, ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving

Pay

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 - $25.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.

Schedule

This is a full-time position starting in September 2026. Apprentices will be expected to commute to Carmel, IN for skills training one day per week during the first 10 weeks of the program. Specific days and times to be determined. Apprentices are eligible for mileage reimbursement.
