Medical Assistant Apprentice
About the role
The Medical Assistant Apprentice works under the oversight of a Certified MA to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. This includes both administrative and clinical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in patient registration and check-in processes
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment
- Collect and record vital signs
- Administer medications as directed by a physician
- Take patient histories and perform basic physical exams
- Manage patient scheduling and appointment coordination
- Handle correspondence and communicate with patients regarding their care
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and billing
Requirements
- Enrollment in the Stepful Medical Assistant (MA) Program upon hire
- National Provider BLS – American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
Qualifications
Applicants should have completed coursework/training in a medical assistant program and possess a National Provider BLS certification.
Skills
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred.

Pay
The starting wage range for this position is $18.00 - $23.92 per hour. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
Schedule
This position is full-time, Monday to Friday, daytime hours.
