About the role
The Medical Assistant Apprentice is responsible for providing assigned patient care duties according to the Medical Assistant Program Curriculum. The apprentice abides by the daily and weekly assigned clinical tasks in preparation for certification. Tasks may include patient interviews, collection of specimens, assist the provider with patient exams and procedures, general patient interaction, and provide patient education. The apprentice practices under the supervision of the preceptor and Quality Department.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient interviews and specimen collection
- Absorb and assist during patient exams and procedures
- Interact with patients and provide patient education
- Work under the supervision of the preceptor and Quality Department
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- BLSHCP certified within six months of hire or transfer
