Medical Assistant (31959)

Connecticut GI, a division of GI Alliance, is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our Farmington Care Center. Responsibilities

• Rooming patients, obtaining vital signs (blood pressure, height, and weight), and documenting accurately using Epic EMR
• Updating patients' medical history, including medication lists
• Documenting patient phone calls and, under provider guidance, informing patients of test results
• Familiarity with prior authorization processes
• Asking appropriate triage questions and accurately recording information in Epic

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
• At least one year of Medical Assistant experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Broad knowledge of medical terminology (1+ year of healthcare experience)
• EMR experience (Epic experience is a plus)
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and function in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED, medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or college course in medical assisting
• Minimum one year of recent experience in a medical facility as a Medical Assistant and/or documented externship in a medical office
• Experience in a gastroenterology practice is preferred

Pay

From $18.00 per hour, depending on experience

• 8-hour shift
• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
