Connecticut GI, a division of GI Alliance, is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our Farmington Care Center. Responsibilities
- Rooming patients, obtaining vital signs (blood pressure, height, and weight), and documenting accurately using Epic EMR
- Updating patients' medical history, including medication lists
- Documenting patient phone calls and, under provider guidance, informing patients of test results
- Familiarity with prior authorization processes
- Asking appropriate triage questions and accurately recording information in Epic
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
- At least one year of Medical Assistant experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Broad knowledge of medical terminology (1+ year of healthcare experience)
- EMR experience (Epic experience is a plus)
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and function in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED, medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or college course in medical assisting
- Minimum one year of recent experience in a medical facility as a Medical Assistant and/or documented externship in a medical office
- Experience in a gastroenterology practice is preferred

Pay
From $18.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule

- Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
