About the role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our dynamic primary care team. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our busy family practice, where you will work alongside healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Patient interaction
  • Vital sign collection
  • Specimen collection
  • Administrative support

Requirements

  • Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT-1) certification
  • Current American Heart Association CPR certification
  • One year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical practice, preferably in family practice or primary care
  • Familiarity with Epic (APeX) electronic health record system is preferred
  • Knowledge of immunizations, including cycles and standard recommendations
  • Experience working with the public in a medical or healthcare setting
  • Ability to collect, enter, and analyze data accurately
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural competency in diverse patient interactions

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish or Chinese (speaking, reading, and writing) is an asset

Pay

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
