About the role

The Clinical Translational Research Site at the University of Miami is seeking a Medical Assistant 2 to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time, on-site position in Miami, FL.

Responsibilities

• Performs multi-skilled tasks to assist medical providers.
• Affords patients healthcare management and clinical procedures in a culturally competent manner.
• Prepares treatment/exam room with proper supplies, instruments, and materials.
• Assists with scheduling patients for tests and completing required forms.
• Maintains accurate and complete patient records and documentation.
• Orders, stocks, and inventories supplies, and assists in performing clerical duties.
• Ensures compliance with State and Federal regulatory guidelines.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Required: Medical Assistant certificate of completion from an accredited program.
• Required: Credentialed Medical Assistant certification from a recognized accrediting or certifying body.
• Required: 2 years minimum health care experience.
• Additional certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes: Strong communication skills, ability to adapt, and maintain confidentiality.
