About the role
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of the clinician on duty. This position assists in the clinic by taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, collecting specimens, and assisting clinicians with procedures. The role promotes and protects the health and safety of DeKalb County residents.
Responsibilities
- Take and record vital signs and medical histories
- Prepare patients for examination
- Collect specimens
- Assist clinicians with procedures
- Perform administrative duties as needed
Requirements
- Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university with one (1) year experience in a related field; OR
- High School diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience in medical assisting; OR
- Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Medical Assistant 1 (HCT100) or equivalent position
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office setting with excellent customer service skills
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
- Public Health experience is a plus
- Knowledge and usage of computers and Windows Software related programs
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred)

Pay
$38,433.04 annually
Schedule
Full-time, salaried position. Core working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:15am to 5pm.
