Medical Assistance Eligibility Specialist - Multiple Positions
Nature of Work
Assigned cases to determine the eligibility of applicants for Medical Assistance. Review client information for continued eligibility, maintain case materials and resolve problems for the Medical Assistance for Families/Maryland Children’s Health Program (MA4F/MCHP). Once eligibility is determined, clients are provided with comprehensive medical coverage.
Minimum requirements
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of Google Suites (Gmail, Sheets, Google Drive, Calendar, Docs)
- Able to work independently and with a team
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Customer service experience
Bilingual
Bilingual is preferred with proficiency in reading, writing and speaking Spanish, but not required.
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED)
- Two years of experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or state entitlement program, and/or in coordination of care.
- Desired or Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Medicaid policy, Maryland Health Connection and Medicaid Management Information System. Basic understanding of health insurance plans.

- Bilingual preferred
- Must be able to complete a reading, writing and speech basic test

Notes
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate with two years of experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or state entitlement program, and/or in coordination of care. from an accredited college or university may be considered in place of the required education.
