Medical AR & Denials Specialist

About the role

This role is responsible for managing accounts receivable, denials, appeals, and insurance follow-up activities across a multi-site healthcare practice. Working within eClinicalWorks, the Revenue Cycle Specialist will play a key role in identifying reimbursement opportunities, resolving complex claim issues, and supporting overall revenue cycle performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable follow-up and collections activities across multiple providers and facilities
• Research, resolve, and appeal denied claims with commercial insurance carriers, Medicare, and Medicare Advantage plans
• Submit corrected claims, supporting documentation, rebills, and appeals to optimize reimbursement outcomes
• Review referrals, eligibility, authorizations, payment variances, and claim status to identify and resolve issues
• Collaborate with revenue cycle team members to troubleshoot challenges and improve reimbursement workflows
• Maintain accurate documentation and account activity within eClinicalWorks

Requirements

• Must have hands-on experience using eClinicalWorks (ECW) in a healthcare billing, collections, or revenue cycle setting
• Strong background in accounts receivable management, denials resolution, appeals, and insurance follow-up
• Experience working with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and HMO plans
• Familiarity with multi-provider, multi-location, or third-party billing environments
• Detail-oriented, collaborative, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality work
• Must be local to the Downtown Chicago, IL area and available to work onsite
