Medical Administrative Assistant
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant (Healthcare) to support a busy Health Information Management (HIM) department. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented administrative professional with recent healthcare experience, strong customer service skills, call center experience, and hands-on experience with Epic EMR/EHR.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide administrative and clerical support, maintain records and files, manage correspondence, assist with patient and staff inquiries, and ensure smooth daily operations within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Health Information Management department
- Maintain office files, records, and documentation in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
- Receive, screen, and direct telephone calls and visitors
- Respond to routine inquiries and escalate complex issues to appropriate staff members
- Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail and correspondence
- Draft, type, and distribute routine letters, memoranda, and reports
- Compile data and prepare reports as requested
- Schedule and maintain appointment calendars
- Create and maintain accurate records in Epic and other office systems
- Support document management, record requests, and other HIM-related functions
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with healthcare privacy regulations
- Provide high-quality customer service to patients, providers, and internal departments
Required Qualifications
- Must-Have Experience:
- Recent healthcare administrative experience (within the last 6 months)
- Experience supporting a healthcare, medical records, or Health Information Management department
- Hands-on Epic EMR/EHR experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Call center or high-volume phone experience
- Knowledge of Health Information Management policies and procedures
- Strong administrative and clerical support experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
