Organizational Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all Ramey-Estep/Re-group (RE) clients.
- Support the mission, vision, and values of RE.
- Adhere to the agency’s code of ethics, policies, and procedures.
- Achieve and maintain accreditation and compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Facilitate positive interaction with clients and staff.
- Exhibit maturity, respect, a team-centered approach, confidentiality, and awareness/sensitivity to cultural and other differences.
- Communicate effectively using agency communication systems.
- Participate in professional development programs.
- Manage financial and physical resources to support RE’s mission.
- Report incidents of abuse or potential abuse to appropriate authorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients professionally and friendlily.
- Register new and returning patients accurately and efficiently.
- Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays or fees.
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments.
- Answer multi-line phones and route calls appropriately.
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant confidentiality of patient information.
- Communicate with clinical staff regarding patient flow and needs.
- Assist with translation or interpretation services, if applicable.
- Prepare daily encounter forms and balance receipts.
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and mail sorting.
- Support UDS and grant compliance through accurate data entry and reporting.
- Participate in team huddles and quality improvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions/Environment
- Front-desk work in a busy outpatient clinic.
- Monday – Friday day shift, with possible evening or weekend shifts.
- Exposure to communicable diseases (proper PPE provided).
- Intense, unpredictable population with the possibility of verbal and physical aggression.
- Fast-paced environment requiring quick decisions to deal with crises.
- The environment can be loud and stressful at times.
Minimum Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One year of medical office or customer service experience preferred.
- Experience in a community health center or with diverse populations preferred.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to understand and relate to the needs of clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to read, write, and converse in English.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
- Background screening.
- TB skin test or proof of a negative chest x-ray or other documentation.
- Completion of Excellent Foundations.
- Annual training.
- CPR/First Aid training.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle, and feel.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds or more.
- Use a computer keyboard and mouse.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs.
- Close, distance, and peripheral vision.

Pay and Benefits
- The rate of pay for this position starts at $18.00/hour.
